Discontinuing SunTea Endurance?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IN JUNE?!!
And not letting me know to stock up on it!
I'm trying to get *all* of my eggs in one basket - or at least try to start getting my act together before I leave for Coz in 2 weeks.
2 weeks!
Let's make sure I have enough nutrition. I placed an order with Supplement Warehouse for a bunch of Strawberry Banana Powergels. I received my *final* UPS notice last night when I got home from work. Um where were the first two notices? I called UPS and they said the package was being sent back to Supplement Warehouse.
I AM LIVID.
So I had to drop an email to Supplement Warehouse to either ship me a new package out ASAP or return my shipment back to me as soon as they get it.
This is FRUSTRATING.
Then I emailed Brian at FastSplits to see if they have any Powerbar Endurance Suntea at the shop.
"Nope, they discontinued it."
"You can't be serious."
"Yup in like June."
FUUUUUUUUUCKKKK.
So I desperately searched online and found one vendor that still has some in stock, so I ordered 4 jugs. I'm really hoping I don't receive an email from them saying they were just kidding and they don't have any more.
In that case - WTF would I do?! Ugh I guess go back to Fruit Punch. I never tried the Orange or Lemon-Lime - but this is NOT the time to try it. There is no time!
Monday's run was terrible. I felt slow. I felt sluggish. I peed myself - well, not on purpose. I tried the ole - let me sit down and pretend I'm stretching and pee on the ground while cars and people are passing by, but alas, that didn't work. At that point I didn't care. I couldn't get the last 30 minutes to Z4, so I just kept slogging along at a less-than-pleasing pace.
Heart rate for the entire 3 hours? Pretty awesomely low - at 149 - but my legs just wouldn't cooperate.
So here I am, two weeks out, and I'm frustrated. Why did my last long run have to be so shitty? Maybe because I got my period that morning? Maybe because I ate two bars (a Luna bar for breakfast and a Balance bar for a snack) and I was farting and burping the entire run?
The point is that I have to factor in other happenstances, and try to put the "I'm not in shape and IMCoz will be the hardest thing in the entire world and I might die" thoughts to the back of my mind. I had some pretty great runs this season and I am as ready as I can ever be. But you all know how a bad workout can fuck your mind up.
So needless to say, it's been a frustrating week all together.
Here's to hoping my mojo will come back tonight. Or sometime this week.

You're mojo will totally come back. I have NO doubt. I had a meltdown bike workout right before B2B and I thought I just wasn't going to make it - I was cooked, done, and didn't care if I even did the race. Um, I had the race of my life. It's all in the bank girlie. You will be just fine.
hi there, new to your blog, came across your posts and nearly wet my pants laughing while I reading some of them them(not like you on your run though) Dont let the crappy run get to you, you have busted your hump to get this far and hey....guess what, it's a race, not brain surgery!! have a fun race and lots of beers when you are done! you will be in Cozumel, how bad can it be!! and I agree WTF Powerbar!
Ok girl - you know you are totally ready to race. Dismiss that bad run and blame it on the period and bars COMPLETELY (and it's probably not a far stretch because you KNOW how your period F's with your gas and bloating anyway then you throw 2 fart-bars on top of that? HELLO!).
That is sucky about your drink being discontinued, but I'm sure you'll get it for your race at least.

I am a blog stalker, so don't judge, but yeah, it's gonna be great. I FINALLY had a decent bike last weekend after 4 weekends of terrible, horrible no good very bad bikes...so I feel your pain. You're gonna rock. It's gonna be fun. We are ready.
Your mojo will be back. It never left! You had a bad run and you've had some fantastic ones. 17 days until something that you will rock. 18 days until it is you, friends, frozen drinks and cabana boys!
I haven't had a really good bike ride since my race in October. Everything is mushy.
This is par for the course. Right on target for the taper. Everything comes back online in the next 17 days, and then you are locked and loaded.
As opposed to AFTER the race at which point you will only be loaded. That is all.
My last two or three weeks were horrible. You're body wants to taper and your mind won't let you. Don't let it stress you out! You are going to do great!
I sure hope you can find the tea and that the gels get there in time. :)

it's just that taper madness. you are cranky and that will soon pass. just hang in there kim- you are almost there.
We all have those meltdown workouts that dont go right. Dont worry too much. You have put in the work and you should be ready to rock oon race day

Ah! The epic pre-ironman meltdown. Me likely (and completely relate). If you're cooked, this is good. Time to recover and sip some tea....err, fruit punch.
OH NO! If you need some when I get back I can grab some from the local Fleet Feet and send it with your suit!
it's just that time before the race. you'll have the mojo when it counts. every race this year, i've felt like i couldn't move the days (or weeks) prior. All turned out well. try to think of it as your body conserving it's own energy. it knows it's balance and it will do what it can to optimize. let your mind trust your body. cause girl, you ARE in shape. and you ARE ready for this.
